Resorts World Casino New York Review

Went to the racetrack friday. Easy access right into the casino. First impression everything is so new. It was a friday afternoon and it was pretty packed. There is a wait to play the table games. If you like the more popular slot machines you will also have to wait. Many dollar slots. When the second floor opens up it should help. The roulette game uses a real table but the ball comes shooting out. I didn't notice if the payout is 35 to 1 like other casinos. The craps is like a slot machine. The baccarat is a robot arm and couldn't figure out the action. It seemed harder to follow than human card dealt. It will definitely hurt Atlantic city, why play tolls or have a disgusting bus ride if you just like to play slots? I'm just worried that it will be too easy for NYC residents to lose a lot of money. The age limit should be over 21. There is a tremendous amount of area for parking.

There are many spaces where the flea market used to be and a huge inside parking garage. The whole complex is huge. there is plenty of security around. The one complaint is that there are no signs for the racetrack. I have been to aqueduct many times and I almost got lost trying to find it. It's as if the casino gobbled the racetrack up. Was going to have a deli sandwich but the buffet was only 16.99 for lunch so my son and I said the buffet is a no brainer even for the day after thanksgiving. Excellent quality and huge selection. Spic and span clean. No line and half empty. There will be outside seating looking at the racetrack in nice weather. The food was delicious, it had to be one of the best buffets I have been to. This place is going to do very well. All the employees seemed very nice.

School of Cards Review

I have been playing poker for over 10 years but only play in tournaments 3 to 4 times a year, and never really played online or read any books on the subject. Making the decision to take this course was a step towards taking my poker game to a different level, to take it more seriously and look at it as more than just a hobby in which I enjoy but rarely win. The 21-hour course flew by, Blake  the pro-poker player/psychologist /entrepreneur kept the day going with his teachings, anecdotes, insights and easy-going personality. I totally recommend this course to anybody who has been playing poker for over a year but wants to step up his/her game to the next level.

It will really make you rethink your own strategy and why you do what you do on every hand. There are amazing insights given on navigating the online poker world and on how to read your opponents in both live and online games. After taking the course, I look at the game in an entirely new way, and play very different - I no longer question how much to bet, raise, or re-raise when in a hand. The best part is after you take the course, Blake wants you to keep in touch, keep him updated on your progress and generally is interested and wants all his students to become awesome profitable poker players. He will email you his opinion, review your hand history, invite you to friendly games, etc.

The Bicycle Casino Review

For a Casino in LA, this place is the best. Sure half the people who come here are disgusting and smell like shit. Sure, the chips have gunk on them and it gets under your fingernails. And sure, the casino is located in the ghetto. But come on people, what card room in California doesn't have these qualities?

Here are some of the good things about The Bicycle and why it deserves 5 stars: Free Food, If you play at the $100-$300 buy-in or higher, food costs nothing. The food here is not the best but surprisingly better than you would expect. I recommend getting the steamed Salmon or Korean BBQ here. Option of Full Buy-in: At the medium to high stakes, you are able to buy in 100x the big blind. Any other card rooms around the area like Commerce only lets you buy in about 30x the big blind. The full buy-in is good for you if you are a winning player because you can make more money. If you are just a recreational player, then you can still buy in short if you choose.

Great Rewards: Every month they have a new promotion for people with players' cards. Sometimes they give you $5/hour for playing, sometimes they give away cars, sometimes they let you play in the $50,000 freeroll if you get enough hours, sometimes they even have up to $200,000 jackpots!  The players' rewards for here cannot be beat. Clean Restrooms: Holy shit are the toilets clean. They literally have people cleaning the restrooms constantly, 24 hrs a day. In the two years I have been going here, I have never seen even one dirty restroom. Very Professional Floor Managers: All the floor managers are extremely knowledgeable on the rules of the game as well as the house rules. They always make consistent calls when there is a dispute. Also, they are always calm and collected. I've never seen a floor blow up at someone unless it was absolutely necessary.

Hustler Casino Review

Pretty fun for a poker house in Los Angeles. The cleanest and possibly classiest in the area. Great restaurant and facilities here. As for the games, standard table games. But I stuck with Limit Poker. I usually go in the late evenings and its usually busy at that time with up to 8 at a table. Time is money so the games go quickly. You're either in or you're out. There is no time to play mind games or even to psych out your opponents. The game is basically 'who has the best cards'.

The people there are what you expect in a room full of degenerates. It's the same as Hollywood Park or Santa Anita. Bunch of gamblers, some happy, and a lot of them bitter. One guy gave me a hard time because of the way I slow played him. But I think he was doing that because I twon his money that he was going to spend on meth. I brought my girlfriend here once and she used her feminine charms to help me a lot of money from a lot of players one night. That night I took a fortune from some dude in the Black Eyed Peas. If you're a novice poker player, don't be intimidated by playing at these places because most people don't know what there doing there either. And bring a friend to make yourself feel more comfortable.

Empire City Review

We live on the opposite side of Westchester, but whenever I pass by the Yonkers casino, I always say that I should stop in. My opinion was cemented when I went to a racetrack casino while working in Ft Lauderdale, we went twice with my office, and the opinion of the buffet there was quite favorable. Plus, when signing up for their players card, you were given a free lunch at the buffet and a voucher for playing. Just like that! I was expecting a similar experience at Yonkers

First, we got nothing for signing up. The place, as noted, is TREMENDOUS, which is nice because it never seems crowded, but not laid out well, with a small cafeteria style restaurant in one corner, and a snack bar in another. There were two small bars around the casino, but neither had a bit of a lounge to nurse a drink. We had to go upstairs for the restaurants, but it was really a steakhouse, that looked way too large. I was really surprised to see that, after coming from Atlantic City's larger casinos, where the restaurants were perennially half full, the management didn't comp enough gamblers to fill the place up a bit more. Also, I was surprised to see that there wasn't a hot club or young and trendy bar somewhere, a destination for people who aren't planning on gambling. More than anything else, the casino, while new and very pretty, looks like it was built on cheapness. It seems that when the thin carpet becomes a bit more threadbare, and the leather seats become a bit more cracked, will quickly revert to an awful eyesore in poor Yonkers.

Napa Valley Casino Review

The Napa Valley Casino is a tiny little poker room with tons of fun and fascinating characters. Do you ever just wanna get away from the hoity toitiness of the Valley. Why not just get down and dirty and play some Texas Hold'em! They have tournaments daily I believe starting at 6. They always have 2-4 limit going on and there is always a full no-limit game going on. They also recently started doing black jack again on the weekends. So, if you need a quick fix for some gambling and your in the Valley go to the casino, its really really fun!

Pete's 881 Club Review

I spent a good chunk of my New Year's Eve at Pete's 881, my first time actually entering the hometown institution. Pete's has been around for over half a century, and due to this it is one of the few places around that still has legalized gambling! As a person who enjoys playing some poker with friends, I was very excited to see a real live card room in the middle of Marin County. Combine that with food, dart boards, a pool table, full bar, and sports on the several flat screen TVs and you have a winner. I definitley will be back. Pete's is well hidden and certainly appears to be a real dive, tucked at the very end of Lincoln in San Rafael (no longer 881 4th Street)... And be advised, If you are a twenty-something, you will certainly be in the minority at Pete's 881.
