The first was Casino night at the Bentley Reserve. What a great night.
Tickets were $60-$100 (depending on how many 'casino dollars' you want).
Open bar, live band, good quality casino tables (black jack, roulette,
craps, etc.) with amazing dealers, silent auction and a raffle for
prizes at the end. Although there were a few organizational mishaps (ran
low on casino money when we arrived at 9ish), this was not a big deal
to me.
The second was Man/Woman of the Year at the Palace Hotel.
Again, relatively cheap, open bar, nice dinner and silent auction.
Unfortunately, we had to 'excuse' ourselves and leave the event early as
one of our friends had a bit too much to drink and was belligerent to
the other attendees at our table.
The one I attended last year
was at a suite at the Clift Hotel. It was another event to honor
Man/Woman of the year. Also present were cancer survivors, a few little
children who went through chem/radiation therapy and were currently in
remission. Needless to say, there was not a dry eye in the room.
